Camelot Nursing and Residential Home consists two large detached houses that have been linked and more recently extended. The building has high ceilings with decorative coving and splendid lighting including many chandeliers. This feature has been retained in a recent extension called the Munro Suite.
There are 32 rooms, 29 single and 3 doubles, 10 of which have en-suite facilities. Each room has its own telephone and TV point, and residents are encouraged to bring in their own personal effects to provide a familiar environment to their room.
The rooms are on the ground, first and second floors, with a lift to the first floor and stair lifts to the top floor.
There is a beautifully appointed dining room where residents may take their meals, all of which are prepared fresh on a daily basis in our fully equipped kitchen. Assistance is provided to those residents want to eat and interact with their fellow residents, but who need help getting to the dining room. Should they wish residents can choose to eat in their own room.
A well-equipped activities room includes an upright piano and keyboard for entertainment, and a separate area within which residents can play board games, or get involved with arts and crafts supervised by Camelot’s own Activities Coordinator.
There is also a beautifully furnished conservatory, ideal for quieter relaxation and meetings with families and friends – although everyone is welcome to spend time with their loved ones in any of our communal areas.
The Munro Suite includes a bright and spacious TV lounge which overlooks and has nearby access to the front patio garden, with mature and well stocked plants, and areas where residents can sit during the milder weather. There is also a rear garden where residents are encouraged to help maintain it.
There is a laundry room that deals with everything in the home, with the exception of dry cleaning, which we can arrange at normal dry cleaners costs.
