The following shows some of the social activities and services available at Camelot
Our Activity Coordinator offers an extensive range of activities for all abilities. We offer Group and one to one activities which takes place in the residents bedroom
Chiropody We have a chiropodist who visits every six to eight weeks.
Birthday and Special Ocassion Buffets We enjoy putting on buffets for resident’s birthdays and other special occasions. Friends and families are always welcome and we will endeavour to meet any special arrangements. Visiting Clergy Our local Church of England vicar and Catholic Church representatives visit the home regularly and on request to provide companionship and communion where wished. They are happy to visit residents privately. Clergy visits from other denominations can also be arranged. We have various church services throughout the year.
Outside Entertainers who come in regularly offering varied musical entertainment, creative talks, clothes parties and more.
Outings and Day Trips offer the chance of a different environment and socialising whether it’s a stroll along the seafront and a stop at a Café for coffee and cake or ice-cream, a trip to a garden centre with afternoon tea, picnic in the park, cinema or theatre trip or further afield to visit a cathedral.
Garden time in the summer to either relax or indulge in outdoor activities, we offer a Garden Club.
Life Story work is a very important part of Camelot offering person centred one to one activity to create a personal Life Story Book for each resident.
Music Therapy is a favourite as there are options to enjoy listening to some favourite tune, sing along, dance, use of instruments and light exercise. Music Therapy with favourite tunes or instrument’s. For other exercise and stimulation options we use beach balls as well as a full range of Sensory equipment and items for both relaxation and stimulation.
We offer learning opportunities for using a computer, a digital camera and an iPad, iPad has many interactive apps for use of all abilities. The opportunities are endless.
Cinema Club offers the chance to see a chosen movie from our range of DVD’s on the projection screen to mimic a cinema experience or on the large TV.
Camelot Library offers an extensive range of books to lend out as well as audio books, DVD’s, CD’s, magazines and newspapers.
Games range from Camelot’s own reminiscing and memory games, traditional board games, playing cards, puzzles, ball games, bingo, quizzes, wordsearch, crosswords and more.
Arts and Crafts are run regularly; there are many options available for complete beginners to budding artists. There is also adult colouring books.
Hair & Beauty – A hairdresser comes in once a week as well as Carers offering shampoo/set/blowdry at other times, manicures, pedicures & hand massages.
